Another Wine Pty Ltd ("we", "us", "our") operates the Another Wine Cru app. We are based in Australia and handle personal information in line with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).

2. What information we collect

Information you provide

• Name
• Email address
• Profile photo
• Clubs you create or join
• Events (including locations you enter)
• Wines, tasting notes, comments, photos, and other content you add

Automatically collected information

• Basic technical information (such as IP address, device/browser type)
• App usage data needed to operate and improve the service

We do not collect precise location tracking data.

3. Why we collect your information

• Create and manage your account
• Enable clubs, events, and shared wine experiences
• Display your content to members of your private clubs
• Send transactional emails (for example, invites and event updates)
• Improve and develop the app, including through aggregated activity insights
• Maintain platform safety and prevent misuse

4. Marketing communications

We may send marketing emails about product updates or new features. If we do, you can opt out at any time using the unsubscribe link in the email or by contacting us.

5. User-generated content

Content you create (such as tasting notes and ratings):

• Remains owned by you
• Is visible according to the privacy settings you choose (including private notes)
• May be used by us in aggregated or anonymised form to improve the app and its insights

We do not identify you personally in promotional use of content without your consent.

6. Data storage and service providers

We use Supabase infrastructure to store app data, Resend to send emails, and PostHog for product analytics. Some data may be stored or processed outside Australia. We take reasonable steps to protect personal information.

7. Retention and deletion

We keep personal information while your account is active and as needed to operate the service. You can request account deletion by contacting support@anotherwine.com.au.

On deletion requests, personal information is removed or anonymised where reasonable, subject to legal, security, and compliance requirements.

8. Access, correction, and rights

You can request access to or correction of your personal information by contacting privacy@anotherwine.com.au. If you are outside Australia (including the EU), you may have additional rights under local laws.

9. Cookies and analytics

We use PostHog product analytics to understand how core app features are used (for example, page type visits and key actions such as sign-up, event creation, wine creation, note saving, and voting). We use this information to improve product quality and reliability.

We do not use advertising tracking cookies and do not use analytics for targeted advertising.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Significant changes will be communicated through the app or by email.

If you have a privacy concern, contact us first at privacy@anotherwine.com.au and we will do our best to resolve it. If you are not satisfied, you may contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC).
